Become a PulsePoint Responder in Allegheny County

PulsePoint is an app that can send you an alert when someone nearby needs CPR. Since 2017, thousands of your neighbors in Allegheny County have carried PulsePoint on their phones and saved lives. Standard PulsePoint users only receive alerts for cardiac arrests in public locations.

Now, a partnership between the University of Pittsburgh Center for Cardiac Arrest Survival (CCAS), the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County 911, and the UPMC Foundation are proud to announce the PulsePoint Registered Responder program, which allows county citizens to register to receive all nearby CPR alerts, including private locations.

As someone who knows CPR and who carries PulsePoint on your smartphone(https://www.pulsepoint.org/download), if you are willing to help at a nearby cardiac arrest in your neighborhood, consider becoming a volunteer Registered Responder by completing the form below. Our staff at CCAS (https://www.pittccas.org/about-us) will reach out to you to answer your questions and help you complete your enrollment.

There is no cost to become a Registered Responder. After providing contact information, however all Registered Responders must have documentation of CPR training, must complete a scene safety and 911 communication course (may be covered under a specific health care credential), and county mandated background checks. You will then receive a link activating new features in your PulsePoint app, allowing you to receive residential CPR-needed alerts.
